Our vision for That Sailing Couple Podcast is to host meaningful conversations about the ins and outs, ups and downs, quirks and unique aspects of the sailing lifestyle. As we dive deeper into the wild world of blue water sailing, we want to hear and learn from those who are already out there living the life. We plan to discuss and document our own personal journey along the way, but what really gets us excited is forging real connections with other sailors and sharing stories, insights, lessons, tips and ideas. In this episode, we talk about our ASA 101, 103, and 104 sailing class and what our plans are moving forward from here. We took a 5-day live-aboard class with the San Diego Sailing Academy, the last class offered by Captain Mike Monastra after a 32-year tenure. Hundreds of sailors have learned to sail aboard the 30-foot Catalina “Karina Del Mar”, kept in impeccable living and working condition after accommodating three decades of sailing students. We discuss continuing our sailing journey by chartering sailboats in the Sea of Cortez in the upcoming months.
